Indigo Renderer is an unbiased, physically based and photorealistic renderer which simulates the physics of light to achieve near-perfect image realism. With an advanced physical camera model, a super-realistic materials system and the ability to simulate complex lighting situations through Metropolis Light Transport, Indigo Renderer is capable of producing the highest levels of realism demanded by architectural and product visualization. Indigo Renderer has extremely good integration with SketchUp, making it easy to learn how to create photorealistic renders. Indigo is commercial rendering software. We have two versions available, Indigo RT and Indigo Renderer. Compare the two here: Both Indigo RT and Indigo Renderer work with SketchUp via the SkIndigo SketchUp extension. Alyshaya2013: This is a P.S. To my last reply. A way of getting around that cost, what I use, is I use Turbo Floor Plan 3D Pro to do the rendering.
First, I make my objects/models in Sketchup 8. Then import them into Turbo Floor Plan 3D Pro.
TFP accepts Sketchup 8 format objects/models. Turbo Floor Plan 3D Pro only cost $99. But, there IS a learning curve with this software. But.once you get past that learning curve, you're good to go. I've created some really fantastic renderings this way. And these renderings DO look (almost) like a photo.
Look for the IMSI Design website, and you'll see their products. One bit of caution, the newer version.version 17/2014 isn't nearly as good as version 16 (which I still use) Then there's also Personal Architect software.
I don't remember the address, you'd have to 'bing' it, to find the address. That should get you started. to post reviews. That's not what the product's 'Buy' area displayed.

It read that it is only a 30 day trial with watermark; not a forever use. Costs about $900.00 USD for what I saw just now. Looks nice, but I wonder how much hardware I will need to operate it and what each 'normal' project's rendering time is. When rendering a mid-size project, it could tie up my computer for days if the hardware is not up to par - AND sometimes these things crash if memory load is overtaxed. Murphy says that they usually crash on the 11th hour. Best do a lot of good research on 'confortable' hardware needs and read many reviews before parting with $900.00.

Pretty pictures sell the product. It is easy to use and so far does marry well with Sketchup. I'll will be considering it as a permanent extension in the future - after more testing and research.

The Plugins Menu is the primary place to access SkIndigo functionality, open dialogues and start rendering. Render Scene This exports the scene to an Indigo Scene File and launches Indigo to start Rendering.
Export Scene as. Exports the current scene as an Indigo Scene File and prompts you to choose a location to save to on your computer. This is handy if you want to send a scene file to someone else, or upload it to a render-farm.
Export Sketchy Replay Animation Exports an animation generated by Sketch Replay. You should get the latest version of SketchyPhysics (a plugin by Chris Phillips) to use this feature. For every object that you wish to animate, you must right click and 'Enable Instancing' for that Group or Component.
Export Scene Tab Animation Exports each scene tab as a separate frame in an animation. Creates Indigo Scene files for every frame and saves a batch file that progresses through them. Must have Halt (Render settings Advanced) set to stop the rendering frame after a certain amount of seconds, or samples per pixel has been reached. Render Settings Opens the Render Settings window for configuring the Indigo export.
It came with the serial number and license code as well. Spyder 3 elite activation code.
Material Editor Opens the Material Editor window for creating and modifying Indigo materials inside SketchUp. Query Material Types Pops up a dialogue with all of the Indigo Materials in the current scene and the types of each material. Also useful for checking which material are emitters. Set Light Layer Names Specify names for the Light Layers. Useful for later reference.
